What we call a double sole is actually built with three layers of leather—an additional leather layer is placed between the moccasin and the hand-stitched Bull Hide outsole for enhanced cushioning, durability, and all-day comfort. Pure, US-made quality
I bought my first pair of Townview moccasins about six years ago. They were a thing of beauty, but a tad too large so I wound up giving them to my nephew who's still wearing them, inside and out, rain or shine, and they have held up impeccably. My new pair looks just as well-made as the old, combining solidity with softness.

Quality American made moccasins!
The last pair of Elk hide moccasins I had ended up having been sneakily made in the Dominican Republic--after having been touted as being Native American made (inferred from the companies name. . ). These American made moccasins are top quality and as comfortable as can be. Stitching is tight and waxed, leather is thick and seemingly durable, and they broke in within one hour of wear. I ordered a bit wider than I should have, but with socks on they fit like a glove (a foot glove??). I am extremely happy with them and just wish I could have been able to get a pair of them with real lambs wool lining.

My feet are now laughing.
Well, I had my 12th spine surgery on 01/21/2014, and I'm recovering more quickly than I could ever have imagined. My new deerskin-lined mocs have been on my feet every day since, and I swear, I can hear them chuckling. I was wrong to say that they are "damned-near" the equal of my past, far more expensive Quoddys. They surpass them in ever way, especially in fit and comfort.
